Prayer of Thirst

One of my favorite passages is Psalm 42, 43. Please enjoy Tim Keller's sermon Prayer of Thirst

"This is a prayer for the depressed, who’s tears have been her food day and night, who feels like God has forgotten her, who keeps asking herself, “why, my soul, are you downcast?” But in the transparency about his spiritually numb state, the psalmist thirsts for God as a dear pants for water. As we wrestle with faith in the disturbingly dark moments of our soul, this psalm calls us to put our hope in God, to praise him because he is our Savior, who thirsted for us on the cross that we might find ourselves satisfied in him, who’s love directs us to the spring of living water welling up to eternal life."

Psalm 42:5, "Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God."
