My city of Matsumoto (my parents served here almost 50 years) is known for music, primarily
because of Shinichi Suzuki who started Talent
Education. Dr. Suzuki not only taught me a little violin, but was a friend of
the family. He went to be with the Lord in 1998.
Matsumoto is also known for Seiji Ozawa and the annual music event held here, now called the Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festval. The other day he and his team won a Grammy in Opera Recording. For you music professionals here are the details. "Ravel: L'Enfant Et Les Sortileges; Sheherazade," Seiji Ozawa, conductor; Isabel Leonard; Dominic Fyfe, producer (Saito Kinen Orchestra; SKF Matsumoto Chorus and SKF Matsumoto Children's Chorus).
